FAW (First Automotive Works) is China's first automobile manufacturer, founded in 1953 in Changchun and owned by the Chinese state. It built China's first domestically produced car and truck, and today it operates across passenger cars (the Hongqi luxury brand, Bestune) and, most importantly, commercial vehicles through FAW Jiefang — one of China's biggest truck makers. FAW also holds major joint ventures with Volkswagen and Toyota in China, making it a cornerstone of the Chinese auto industry. FAW Jiefang trucks, tractors, and trailers are well known on Pakistan's highways, where Chinese heavy trucks dominate long-haul freight. With so many FAW trucks working hard on routes between Karachi, Lahore, and the up-country, genuine FAW powertrain and chassis parts — and workshops that know the Jiefang platform — are vital to Pakistan's logistics industry, where a broken truck means missed deliveries. FAW's Jiefang range covers everything from light delivery trucks to heavy prime movers, and its long export history means Pakistani workshops generally know the platform well — strong spare availability is a key reason transporters keep choosing it.
