Gates is an American manufacturer founded in 1911 in Denver, Colorado, and is one of the world's leading names in belts, hoses, and hydraulics. Its timing belts, serpentine (V-ribbed) belts, radiator and fuel hoses, and hydraulic hose assemblies are original equipment on millions of vehicles globally. In Pakistan, Gates belts and hoses are a workshop staple for cars, trucks, tractors, and industrial machinery — components where failure means a stranded vehicle or a seized engine. Because Gates is one of the most counterfeited aftermarket brands, Pakistani buyers should insist on genuine stock from trusted sellers, checking packaging and markings before fitting a timing belt or hose. Replacing a timing belt on schedule with a genuine Gates kit — including tensioners and idlers — is among the cheapest insurance a car owner can buy against catastrophic engine damage. Pakistani mechanics often advise replacing the full timing kit — belt, tensioners, and water pump — rather than the belt alone, and a genuine Gates kit makes that job straightforward.
